Day 66: When God Calls You Out of Hiding

In Judges 6–7, we meet Gideon—a man hiding from his enemies when God calls him to lead Israel into battle. Gideon doesn’t feel qualified. He doubts himself, questions God’s choice, and even asks for multiple signs. Yet, despite his fears, Gideon obeys—and God uses him mightily.

As moms, we often find ourselves in Gideon’s shoes—feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or unqualified for what lies ahead. Maybe God is calling you to lead in your family, your workplace, or your community. Like Gideon, your courage doesn’t have to come from self-confidence—it comes from knowing who sent you.

God reduced Gideon’s army to just 300 men so that victory could only be credited to Him. Sometimes God narrows our resources or options so we’ll learn to rely fully on Him. Our limitations are His invitation to show His strength.

✨ Where might you be “hiding” instead of stepping into what God has called you to do?

✨ What fears or insecurities do you need to surrender to God today?

✨ How can you teach your children to find courage in God, not in their own strength?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for reminding me that courage begins with trust. Help me to step out of fear and into faith, knowing You have called and equipped me for every assignment. Strengthen my heart to obey, even when I feel unqualified. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
