Praying Your Child Into Purpose This School Year

Why This School Year Needs More Than Just School Supplies
The school year is here again - and like many moms, you’re probably checking off the supply list, adjusting schedules, and trying to get everything in order. But as we prepare their backpacks, sharpen their pencils, and map out their routines, there’s one thing we must not forget to do: Pray with purpose.
Prayer isn’t just a religious routine—it’s a strategic tool. It’s how we partner with God to shape the future of our children, align their hearts with His will, and cover their minds, friendships, emotions, and academics in divine protection and grace.

What Does It Mean to Pray Your Child Into Purpose?

To pray your child into purpose means you’re not just praying for them to pass math or have nice friends (though those are important!).

You’re praying for:

  • Clarity about their identity in Christ
  • Wisdom in choosing godly friends and mentors
  • Courage to stand firm in a world that pulls them in every direction
  • Favor and insight in the subjects they’re called to master
  • Protection from distractions, danger, and discouragement

You're declaring, "God, I trust You with this child. Lead them into Your plans—plans to prosper them, not to harm them, to give them a future and a hope."

Why Prayer Matters More Than Ever This Year

In today’s culture, children are being shaped more by social media, peer pressure, and fear than by truth. They’re battling identity confusion, mental exhaustion, academic pressure, and spiritual apathy.

That’s why we must rise—not in fear, but in faith.

Our prayers can shift atmospheres. They can open doors, close wrong ones, and plant seeds of destiny that bloom over a lifetime.

Ready to Pray Boldly?

That’s why I wrote “31 Bold Prayers for the Back-to-School Year.” It’s more than a book—it’s a movement of praying moms declaring God’s Word over their children, families, and schools.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • Daily prayers and declarations for the school year
  • Prompts to help you pray intentionally
  • Affirmations and journal space to record what God is doing

It’s time to stop parenting in survival mode and start parenting on purpose.

We’ve also created a safe, Christ-centered space just for moms—The Mom360 Cafe—where we pray together, grow in faith, and find practical resources for our homes and hearts.
